A construction site brings unusual things to light...

On the piece of land, where our house should be built, we made the »happy« discovery that the Romans had already lived and worked the land here. A house belonging to the Roman settlement Littamum was exactly there where we wanted settle.

Under the vigilant auspices of the Landesdenkmalamtes (Provincial Office for Historic Monuments) we have integrated the remains of the domus romana in our house. They form the entrance area and offer an insight into Roman constructional methods, in other words, into the pre-fossil era and also into state of the art technology which anticipated the post-fossil era.
